Shorty Awards Ceremony (2020)

Picture this… it’s April 2020 and the world has been shut down for about a month. The Shorty Awards gives our agency a call and asks us to help them concept, script, and produce a completely remote ceremony. Oh, and did I mention this had never been done before, and there was still no host or many confirmed presenters, and the show was scheduled for next month? Yeah. Without taking a beat or a breath (because we didn’t have much time to do so) the creative team and I got to work on brainstorming a concept for the 12th Annual Shorty Awards. After we sold our idea (“Meta: Celebrating the best of the internet on the internet”), we got right to scripting, and before we could blink it was May which meant it was show time. This was a huge team effort, a big moment for the agency, and a major milestone for the awards.
